Download the published paper and actual reading copies
The comparison source is the first ten pages of Global patterns and drivers of fish reproductive potential on coral reefs, published in Nature Communications in 2024. The excerpt preserves the original pages, including two-column prose, Figure 1 and later equations. Download the unchanged source excerpt, then inspect the same passage in a saved output. This library contains real published material rather than invented demonstration pages.
Choose an actual output to inspect
Calibre output · Convertio output · PDF24 Flow output · pdf2ereader output · Reviewed EPUBTurn output.
The four competitor files are the saved default-route outputs from the same PDF. The EPUBTurn copy is a reviewed result: the initial automatic export was blocked by equation-crop geometry, and three page-seven equation crops were corrected manually. The cloud download remained blocked by stale job status. Do not describe that file as an untouched automatic result.
Read the passage before interpreting the chart
Start with the inspected column transition on source page 2. The four default competitor outputs interleave the column text; the reviewed EPUBTurn copy retains the inspected sequence and selected numerical associations. Then compare Figure 1 with the original source page. The reviewed copy retains the three plot panels and caption but clips lower axis labels and ticks in two panels. The original is still needed to interpret those details. The competitor outputs preserve figure-related text without the plot panels. Read the full comparison and its actual screenshots before treating a download as a usable reading result.
Keep historical scans separate from the journal test
A separate nine-page excerpt from Fannie Merritt Farmer’s 1917 Boston Cooking-School Cook Book contains actual photographs, measuring instructions, tables and the complete Water Bread recipe. Its existing text layer already misreads some printed fractions. The source and any documented scan conversion need their own observations; results from the journal paper do not establish recipe, table or recognition quality. A historical cooking text is conversion-reading material, not current food-safety guidance.
Use the source within its licence and scope
The journal paper is by Hadj-Hammou and colleagues and is published under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0. Credit the authors, title and publisher when reusing the excerpt; pages 1–10 were selected from the eleven-page publication. Our observed checks cover those actual files and passages, not every PDF, physical reader or conversion setting. Access-limited services without a new output are absent from the download list. A real output should remain separate from any later edited copy.
Choose the actual sample that matches your reading question
EPUBTurn provides the saved reading copy used for this check. The three-page cookbook download answers a recipe-and-photo task: its two captions, Water Bread fractions and continued bread instructions can be checked against the same source. The NASA sample answers a hardware-label and numbered-function task, with only three of six input pages included. The journal-paper files answer a more complex column-and-chart question and retain their documented manual-review and clipped-axis limits. Choose the relevant saved output before trying your own PDF, rather than combining those different trials into one general success claim. A running page header interrupts the Milk and Water Bread continuation, so compare that transition with the source.
