Inspect real PDF and EPUB examples: source, raw output and edits
Inspect a published research PDF and its saved EPUBs. Compare column order and complete figures, with manual corrections and access limits disclosed.

Start with the published source
The published research-paper comparison uses a ten-page excerpt of Global patterns and drivers of fish reproductive potential on coral reefs, published in Nature Communications. The original is licensed under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0. Open the research-paper PDF before examining a converted screenshot. Source pages two and three identify the exact passage and Figure 1 used for the checks.
A neat cover or opening paragraph says little about the rest of a document. The source lets you locate the expected words, numbers, plots and captions independently. Save the PDF and EPUB together so a future reading-app change does not erase the basis for comparison.
Follow a complete column transition
On page two, read the left column before the right. Find the point where the neighbouring passages could become interleaved and record the words around it. Numerical ranges also need their population descriptions: the same digits appearing in the file is weaker evidence than retaining the meaning of the sentence.
The reviewed EPUBTurn result keeps the checked column sequence and numerical associations. The four saved default competitor outputs interleave that passage. These results describe one source and the settings recorded for each run.
Inspect all three Figure 1 panels
The source figure combines a map, density plot and scatter plot. Inspect the panel letters, legends, axes and caption. The reviewed EPUBTurn export retains the three panels but clips lower axis ticks and titles. The competing default files lose the vector plots while retaining figure text.
Do not treat either outcome as complete merely because a caption can be found. Open the image at a useful size and keep the PDF for missing labels. Browser screenshots show a particular view, not every physical reader.

Reviewed EPUBTurn result

Separate untouched results from reviewed exports
Calibre, Convertio, PDF24 Flow and pdf2ereader supplied saved default outputs. EPUBTurn’s initial automatic workflow stopped at an equation on page seven. Three equation crops were corrected by hand before a reviewed result was built. Normal cloud download remained blocked by the job status.
The export is useful evidence of the reviewed result, with that work disclosed. It is not an untouched automatic download. CloudConvert and Zamzar had exhausted existing free allowances, so no new-paper output was obtained for those two routes. Missing access is not a measured quality failure.
Choose a check that matches your own PDF
For an illustrated report, inspect the complete picture and its explanation. For a scanned book, compare recognised words with the page image; this selectable-text paper supplies no scan benchmark. For a wide table, preserve labels, values and units together and keep the original grid for lookup.
EPUBTurn can be assessed on your own permitted source through a free sample. Record which pages appear in the automatic selection. A feature outside the sample remains untested, regardless of how well the included prose reads.

Use an unchanged sample and a reviewed export differently
The actual NASA sample EPUB is an actual automatic sample without manual output edits. The reviewed paper result is a reviewed export following three equation-crop corrections. Use the former for the selected engineering prose and hardware task, and the latter for the checked scientific column sequence. Their source types and interventions are different; keep those facts with the result you inspect.
